a bit towards the difficult side but good study guide

Great book to help your kids to aim high in taking this test. My kids just took the test today after using this book to help them study over the last few months, and they told me they thought the test was pretty easy! I highly recommend this book, especially for students who are in college prep and AP classes.

I purchased both this "Barron's PSAT/NMSQT 1520" and the "Princeton Review Cracking the PSAT/NMSQT with 2 Practice Tests, 2017 Edition"My daughter first took the published College Board PSAT Practice Test #1 as a baseline. She scored 1510. She was obviously looking to get 1520. For her, the Princeton review tests were more like published practice tests than the Barron's test - actually just a bit more challenging. In fact, she completed each of the Barron's tests in half the allotted time, and didn't miss a single answer. Fact is, she learned from the Princeton review tests, but didn't learn anything from the Barron's review tests. So, skip this one and go for the Princeton Review. We will see the results of the real PSAT in a couple months. (For what it is worth, she also used the Princeton Review for the ACT test - earning a 36!)

This book is a comprehensive update to the definitive guide to baseball hall of fame autographs. While the first edition is still very good, this edition is even better, as it contains several more classes of players who have been inducted into the hall, as well as a long awaited price guide for each of the signatures analyzed.The book is organized in a similar fashion to the first edition. The author gives a history of his extensive collecting experience, and what people may want to consider collecting. The "meat" of the book is the detailed signature study for just about every player in Cooperstown. As mentioned above, the book improves on the first edition by the inclusion of the price guide and additional hall of fame classes. In addition, there is a very enjoyable new section containing the author's top fifty deceased Non-Hall of Fame players worth collecting. Whether you agree or disagree with this top fifty, the players mentioned are all worth collecting, and would be nice additions to any person's collection. The analysis follows the same format as used for the Hall. Each player has a signature study and a valuable price guide as to each signature.While you may not become an autograph expert overnight, this guide will definitely help you avoid being ripped off by overpaying for an item, or even worse, acquiring a forgery. I strongly recommend this book.

I bought this book for my husband for Christmas. He just started collecting autographed baseballs and he loves the book!

This book provides an incredibly clear and well written insight into the early cable world. It's a world built by alliances and deals that still exist to this day. Cable Cowboy provides a great context into the cable world that we look at today. Net neutrality, media mergers, and cable deals can be better understood by those who read this book and understand the true underpinnings of the industry that it's all built on.As far as being a kindle book goes, the margins and spacing are a little off. I think that this would be better read as a printed book. Nothing was so distracting that I couldn't read it, though.

There's no denying it's a well written book, nor that the subject is a fascinating man. It would have been better if there was a little more detail on how Malone's various deals actually worked, though. It tends to gloss over some of the nitty gritty of how the capital was actually raised, the deals themselves, which to me is actually the most interesting part/where Malone's wizardry really shined.

Fascinating story about the birth of an industry and how few determined people can create a change (an industry) against the odds and mighty opponents.I found the description of the many struggles of John Malone and Bob Magness as they built Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI) to a dominant cable company an unforgettable story. It is a story of a rancher (Magness) who sold is cattle to "climb on towers and wire homes", and of John Malone a financial and business visionary who saved the company from bankruptcy (some will say multiple time) and led it to its powerful position.I like the author ability to both describes in technical details the early days of the first cable systems and the personalities of the industry visionaries as they fight against many challenges (regulatory, financial and personal).This book might be more important today (2012) than it was when released in 2005, as the industry is losing some of its dominance. The few broadcasting companies that were undefeated semi-monopoly only 30 years ago were slowly overtaken by the young cable guys as described in this book. Today some of these guys and the mighty cable industry are facing tremendous challenges (cable video subscription had its first negative year), other players are taking prominent position as leaders in the media distribution industry, and once "hooked" clients are debating about "cutting the cord".The author neither analyzes the industry nor judge its ways. However, it is telling the story of risk taking people with a vision to create a product against all odds.One might find that the key lesson in this book is that it is not only a company, a technology or a unique position that creates tremendous success, it is also (some will remove the word "also") the people, the captains of change. In other words, the author has greatly distanced himself from the approach that most journalists have taken in reporting on Malone. The Onion rarely disappoints, and this calendar is no exception. Brings at least a smile to my face (and usually a guffaw from my wife) every morning. That's worth a lot!

This calendar will give you at least one laugh per day. Used 'days' make amusing bookmarks or scrap paper.

I've been getting this calendar every year for my brother for many years. It brings hilarity into his world and that's a good thing.

The content is great, but the calendar falls apart on my desk. The glue does not hold at all. The kickstand is not sturdy. I do not expect much, but Jeopardy and The New Yorker calendars at least work. No complaints with them

Well... it is the Onion. Usually hit or miss with me, but if you like their stuff, you'll like this calendar. Although, it is rather cheaply done.

Thought I'd be getting articles for each day / weekend combo, but there are a lot of pictures that leave a bit to be desired.
