I was recently asked to develop a new class on church administration for a growing Christian college. Since this is my first time to teach the subject, I contacted my previous church administration professor from my alma mater. This is the book he recommended. Since it is a very thorough book, some will find it overly detailed. Nonetheless,this book answers many questions in terms of procedures that many related books won't even touch. It covers literally every aspect of Church administration and leaves nothing to the imagination. Even though it is written from a Southern Baptist perspective, it is easily adaptable to any denomination. Its only weaknesses is that for someone new to the area of administration, this may seem overwhelming as a first text. Nonetheless, I will be taking a calculated risk and will use it with my summer students a month from now. In short, this is a manual that has been regularly updated and needs to be on every minister's bookshelf.

Excellent! This is really a book for executive pastors and those in lead roles. If you're new to church admin, a student, or even a seasoned shepherd, this book will prove to be an invaluable reference. As a Pastor myself this has been a great tool for educating my team. HOWEVER I'm sure it can become dated quickly, so look out for updates.

As a new pastor with limited church administration gifts, this book is extremely helpful and practical. Administrative terms are explained well, and concepts can be applied to both small and large churches.

This is a wonderful book on church administration and laws of that govern the church. From a financial position and from a legal perspective. This is an excellent resource for any size church.
